Nexus presents Milan
Friends of Nexus Designs enjoyed a light lunch whilst we shared with them highlights from the fair and an overview of the latest trends, products and designers in Milan.

Snapshots from our presentation - the emerging colour palette (above) and detail of Can Can, a new pendant lamp by Marcel Wanders (below).

We'd like to thank Space Furniture, Kfive, Euroluce, Stylecraft and Artemide for their generous hospitality whilst in Milan.
A big hello to our new and old friends who also made the trip so enjoyable - Gervasoni, Miele, Hotel De La Ville, Indesign magazine, Living Edge, Arper and Format Furniture.

Drinks with Haynes Robinson
Nexus Designs invited US based designer Haynes Robinson for drinks while he was in Melbourne recently. He started his own company as a seventeen year old in Atlanta, Georgia, designing and selling rugs. He now works collaboratively with nomadic Persian weavers to create beautiful, unique, hand-woven rugs. We love his work – the rugs have a natural, organic feeling, and the designs are subtle and understated. His 2009 Sahar collection can be found at Behruz Studio in Melbourne.
Michael Malignaggi, Haynes Robinson, Janne Faulkner and Sonia Simpfendorfer.

Fool Moon by Tim Derhaag for Flos
- Amazing Adidas Liquid Story installation at Superstudio - dancing ferrofluid, what the?
- The cute Antler chair by Nendo for Cappellini. I want one!
- Awe inspiring installation of the recycled timber city at the Established & Sons party.
- Dried passionfruit from the market stall outside Centrale Station. Couldn't get enough.
- The beautifully simple Fool Moon wall light by talented designer Tim Derhaag, it tilts!
- A glass or two of Pinot Grigio on the terrace at Hotel Miralago, Lake Como with KFive.

SONIA SIMPFENDORFER
- MDF Italia's Flow chair range combined high tech - ultra glossy seats that appeared hard but were soft to touch - with natural timber bases. An ideal range for multiple applications.
- Sex, politics and humour. Ingo Maurer's Euro Condom had all three.
- Gervasoni's showroom resisted the temptation to display everything they do. The only thing on show was the Allu chair in various incarnations. So easy and fresh.
- The pared back simplicity of product and presentation at Davide Groppi faultlessly revealed the essence of the designers intent.
- Some of the best styling was the simplest - the shelves at B&B Italia had cascades of white paper caught in suspension.
- The perfect dish of penne with peas and asparagus in the courtyard of 10 Corso Como with Stylecraft.
