NEW010 shorlisted in (idea) awards

We are proud to announce NEW010 has been shortlisted for the 'Best Event Design' category of the 2010 (idea) awards.

The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) annual NEW exhibition for 2010 was prompted by Nexus Designs' proposal for an exhibition that explored collaboration and synergy between arts, design and architecture. As official collaborating partner, Nexus Designs' extensive role embraced exhibition design, branding, event coordination, project management and sponsorship procurement.

Space Dinner: Inside Studio Castiglioni

Nexus Designs enjoyed an intimate dinner at the Space showroom recently with special guest Giovanna Castiglioni. Giovanna and her husband Sergio presented the work of her late father, Achille Castiglioni - the legendary Italian industrial designer - offering an engaging personal insight into his Studio and famous designs.

Giovanna discussed the challenges of maintaining Achille's Milan studio and keeping it open to the public. The charismatic Giovanna told us the stories behind the iconic furniture and lighting, and what it was like to grow up with such a playful and quirky father. She spoke directly, humbly and from the heart. We could have stayed all night!
