ONE NIGHT IN MILAN

 

It takes 5 nights in Milan to make one memorable night in Milan…in Melbourne.

 

Est Magazine’s idea to present the latest from the 2013 Milan Furniture Fair in an Italian inspired environment such as Ladro was a masterstroke.

 

Presenting their unique interpretation of Milan 2013 were seasoned veteran of Milan, Richard Munao of Corporate Culture and our very own Narelle Cuthbert and Lucy Marczyk of Nexus Designs.

 

Great food, great presentation and great conversation.

 

Thank you to all who contributed to the success of the event including our graphic designers Joseph Antonios and Emily Knox-Knight for their playful graphics.

BEST OF THE BEST

 

This fundraising event staged by the NGV Women’s Association pitted the diverse talents of interior designers, landscape designers, artists, florists, culinary experts, and retailers to create 40 of The Best of The Best in table displays. We took our inspiration from architect and textile designer Alexander Girard and Melbourne artist Peter Cole who's marble sculptures featured as the centrepiece of the table. Round silver coated cakes by Let them Eat Cake also created a sculptural element as did Signorino honed Carrara marble placemats and Osiris red plinth, both designed for the event.

HARLEY'S BIG SCREEN TEST

Whilst he might not be movie star, Harley Anstee remains one of Australia’s foremost colour experts.

Here Harley is being interviewed for a documentary on the new colour range for COLORBOND® Steel, to be launched later this year.  

 

OUR TRIBECA TRANSFORMATION - NEXUS DESIGNS SHORTLISTED!

We are delighted our New York Tribeca Loft transformation has been shortlisted in this year's Australian Interior Design Awards.

 

Once a former wrapping paper factory, this fourth floor Tribeca loft, has been transformed into a sanctuary in which our client’s call home. Having previously worked with this savvy client on two Australian projects, our brief was to create a sense of ‘Australia’ amongst their busy professional lives and Manhattan location.

GOTYA IN THEIR SIGHTS!

Our Art Director Joseph Antonios was recently asked to be on a graphic design panel with Motherbird's, Jack Mussett and Principle Design's, Sash Fernando to judge the 2013 DIA VIC/TAS GOTYA. The GOTYA Award celebrates the best design graduates of 2012 from tertiary institutions in Victoria and Tasmania. 

After a comprehensive process, four worthy finalist were chosen: Tomas Sabbatucci, Seviora Citra, Emily Flanagan and Andrew Robertson. Each designer then presented their ideas, thoughts and solutions to the judges. After a robust discussion between the judges it was decided that two graduates should be awarded the honour.

Congratulations to both Tomas and Emily who went away with the prestigious GOTYA Award at the ceremony last week. We wish them and their fellow finalists the best for their futures and look forward to seeing them out in the industry.
