Worlds Colliding –
Peter McIntyre & Nexus Designs

Nexus Designs congratulates Peter McIntyre on his long and illustrious architectural career. We are also proud of designing interiors for some of his most lauded projects. To read more about Peter’s career please click here.

Recently our worlds collided again on the Kew Court House project. Peter headed the fund raising and restoration of the Kew Court House Community Cultural Centre and Nexus Designs created the identity, signage and promotional collateral.

Tip 2: Keep it simple

One paint colour with subtle variations of gloss level and strength, one or two floor finishes - and the repetition of other elements ie joinery finishes: these simple guidelines are the key to many of our loveliest, most liveable and timeless interiors.

10 KEY TIPS FOR CREATING GREAT CONTEMPORARY INTERIORS

A capacity crowd of enthusiastic knowledge seekers made our Boyac/Vogue Living ‘Meet the Designers’ talk on 7th June a great afternoon.  Harley Anstee and Sonia Simpfendorfer were delighted to present their best advice about contemporary interior design and promised to blog their top ten tips over the next few weeks, starting now:

Tip 1: Write a brief

A project brief can be pages of clear, detailed notes about function, or can be as open and inspirational as one of our favourites “I want it to look like a lily”.  Just know what it is that’s really important to you and let your designer find a creative, thoughtful response, or use it as your own reference point when making decisions along the way.

The Sunny Side of the Dulux Colour Awards 2012; Nexus Designs shortlisted!

After months of building a simple, grey timber-clad beach house, the builder called us in a panic. Opening the can of the paint for the huge pivoting front door, he was alarmed to find that it was vivid yellow! Dulux Sunshine Surprise to be exact. There were more surprises to come in the interior design with paint colours such as blue, orange, purple and Hot Lips red.

We are delighted that Dulux has taken a shine to the Sunny Side in shortlisting this project for the 2012 Dulux Colour Awards.
